Portable Travel Cots

High-Quality Portable Cots

Bring on the zzzs no matter where you are with our trusted, comfy baby travel cots. At The Memo, we make sure to curate a selection of dependable travel cots that are easy to set up and pack down, such as the dependable Aeromoov portacot or  Bugaboo Stardust Travel Cot.

Thanks to its instant setup, Aeromoov is one of the most user-friendly portable cots ever invented. It’s so easy it unfolds and packs up in less than 2 seconds! We love that it also comes with a study PU foam mattress and allows you to adjust its height across two levels (au revoir sore backs!) It’s suitable for newborns through to toddlers who weigh 6 kg or under.

The Bugaboo Stardust Travel Cot is another much-loved option that is suitable for children up to three years of age. It’s similarly easy to set up and also has breathable mesh walls just like the Aeromoov. It’s a little sturdier than the Aeromoov, but both make an excellent bedding option for your baby while travelling.

FAQs

What is a portacot?

A portacot, a portable or travel cot, is a collapsible cot designed for easy transportation. It’s the best way to provide a secure and comfortable sleeping area for your baby while on the go.

At what age does my baby need to be to use a travel cot?

Travel cots are suitable for babies from birth until they can climb out, which is typically around 2-3 years of age, depending on the child's size and mobility.

Some of the models we stock at The Memo, such as the Silvercross Slumber Travel Cot or the Aeromoov Instant Travel Cot, have a newborn level for babies up to two months old. This means that the mattress can be securely placed higher in the travel cot, so you can gently settle them when they are at that newborn stage.

How do you set up a portable cot?

Clear instructions will always be included with your cot to help set up. Usually, this involves unfolding the frame and locking the sides into place before placing down the provided mattress. Always follow instructions to ensure the cot is safe for your baby to sleep in.

How do you clean a travel cot?

Clean a portacot by wiping it down with a mild detergent and warm water. Ensure the cot is completely dry before storing it to prevent mould and mildew.

What are the safety concerns when using a travel cot?

When used correctly, portable cots are safe. All cots in our collection at The Memo have been rigorously tested to ensure they meet Australian safety standards. Always ensure that the cot you purchase meets safety standards, is set up correctly and that there are no loose parts or sharp edges.

What are the benefits of using a portable cot?

Travel cots are convenient, portable and a comfortable sleeping environment for your child when you’re on the go. They're lightweight, easy to transport, and can double as a playpen.

Are portable cots comfortable?

Yes, travel cots can be quite comfortable for your baby. Different portable cots will have different mattresses and other comfort features - make sure you explore our collection at The Memo to find the right travel cot for your needs.

Do I need a portable cot?

If you travel often or need a flexible sleeping arrangement for your child, a travel cot is a great idea. It can also be very useful if you require an occasional cot at a grandparent’s, friend or other family’s home. Rather than needing to take up permanent space, these cots can be set up and stored as needed.
