Silverette was awarded Winner in the Breast Bestie category in The Memos Awards 2023, as voted by thousands of Australian parents.

If you’re struggling with nipple damage, you’ve come to the right place. It’s hard to believe that such a small and simple product could make such a difference to so many women, but Silverette Nursing Cups are here to do just that. Crafted out of pure 925 sterling silver and 100% nickel free, these medical-grade nursing cups fit over and help to protect and repair nipples and surrounding skin that is sore, cracked and sensitive from breastfeeding. It’s many new mum’s top I-wish-I-knew-about-before-it-was-too-late product and can make a huge difference between being able to breastfeed or not. They work two-fold:

  1. As a preventative measure to wear 24/7 for the first few weeks after birth to protect against nipple damage.
  2. As a repairer and healer if you’re currently attempting to breastfeed and you’re struggling with nipple damage.

Silver is a natural antimicrobial, antifungal, and antibacterial metal that also contains anti-inflammatory agents. Best used 24/7 between every nursing session for at least two weeks, these silverette cups help support healing and prevent cuts, wounds, cracks, soreness, and infections that can occur while breastfeeding. We also love how Silverettes retain milk contact with the nipple which makes them even more effective, allowing any cracks to heal quickly.

Tested to fit the anatomical shape of the areola and nipple area with a patented design, the smooth rounded apex shape allows air to circulate around the nipple and provides protection against contact pain too. Lightweight, weighing only 3g per cup, Silverette easily fits under a nursing bra and can be used on its own in the bra or in conjunction with a nursing pad.

Choose from two sizes:

Regular: if your areola is less than or equal to 4.5cm.

XL: if your areola is more than 4.5cm.

If you're in doubt, go for the XL.

Perfect pair: Body Ice

Editors notes

"I put these on the day I gave birth, right after I started trying to establish breastfeeding. I wore them 24/7 for the first six weeks, I wanted to be pre-emptive and avoid any nipple pain and damage so many mothers can experience. It worked." Phoebe co-founder

Specifications

To prevent or ease sore nursing nipples, leave a couple of drops of breast milk in each cup at the end or your breastfeeding session and place the cups directly over the nipple like a cupping glass. Keep Silverette on as much as possible between breastfeeding sessions, then remove cups before breastfeeding. It’s important to remember not to use any other nipple treatments in conjunction with Silverette as it may compromise or reduce the efficacy of the product.  If you plan on using absorbent breast pads, place the breast pads over cups. Your nursing bra will hold the cups in place.

Crafted by a medical equipment manufacturer in Verona Italy. Simply wash in between use with warm water to remove any residue. To keep them shiny, create a simple paste using bicarbonate of soda and a little bit of water, and rub the mixture on the cups. Rinse thoroughly then dry.

Absolutely worth the hype!

I was sceptical about these until I got them, but they have been so worth the cost for healing sore cracked nipples. The relief was instant as the cups stopped my nipples from rubbing/sticking to breast pads, and the healing then took only a day or two (after suffering for days using lanolin cream!) 100% recommend if you're on the fence like I was.
