Gay Dads Australia
A support website for gay men who are planning on, or who are already parents. It includes active Discussion lists and Calendars for VIC, NSW and QLD to keep state members informed of events and topical discussions.
LGBTIQ+ Health Australia
A national organisation that provides health-related programs, services and research focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans/transgender, intersex, queer and other sexuality, gender, and bodily diverse people.
Outspoken Families: A resource kit for rainbow families
Written and collated by Jacqui Tomlins, this kit includes stories from rainbow families to help deal with daily challenges and bigger concerns, as well as insights for service providers to support LGBTIQ+ clients in a respectful and informed manner.
PFLAG – Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays
A carefully researched and developed specialist resource to aid individuals, families, groups, and organisations in understanding how they can assist their gender diverse and non-heterosexual loved ones and friends.
This is a national counselling and referral service for people who are LGBTIQ+. Phone 1800 184 527, 3 pm-midnight, seven days a week.
Rainbow Door by Switchboard
A free specialist helpline providing information, support, and referral to all LGBTIQA+ Victorians, their friends and family. The service is also connected to a multi-language interpreter support service, including Auslan interpreters.
NEW SOUTH WALES
A charity that works to reduce discrimination and disadvantage faced by children of LGBTQIA+ parents so they can thrive and shine, who offer online support, as well as IRL community events and programs. It’s a supportive network for parents and carers, as well as future parents and carers.
AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY
A low cost, confidential, peer-led counselling service for LGBTIQA+ people, their families-of-choice, carers and allies, as well as people living with HIV or impacted by HIV. They are a reliable resource for those seeking help to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
This volunteer organisation supports rainbow families, and provides access to resources and events within the community. They are dedicated to achieving and maintaining inclusion and equity for LGBTIQ+ people in Tasmania.
NTHAC, Northern Territory AIDS and Hepatitis Council
The main point of contact for people in the Northern Territory who have questions about sexuality or gender. They offer LGBTI focussed counselling service every Tuesday and Wednesday face-to-face, via phone or Facetime. Contact Larz at 0414 809 717.
Bfriend South Australia
Operating in SA for more than 25 years, Bfriend offers support to anyone who has questions about sexuality, gender identity and intersex variations, and their loved-ones. Their free and confidential services include; peer support, community connections, workplace training and volunteering opportunities.
Rainbow Families Queensland
An organisation that celebrates, and advocates on behalf of LGBTQIAP+ parents, carers, and prospective parents and their children across Queensland, in a way that is safe, inclusive, and respectful. They offer supportive resources, and community events.
A valued resource for LGBTIQ+ people and communities for over 40 years, they provide peer-support, information and resources in WA. They offer training, workshops and resources, and have curated an in-depth list of local support groups.
