The Britax Safe-n-Sound B-first Ifix Tex Car Seat provides safety and comfort for your child aged 0 - 4 years during car rides. This versatile car seat is not only parent friendly but also packed with functional features.

Britax has designed this car seat with a closed protective shell design. It features Advanced Side Impact Cushion Technology (SICT) protection, located in the headrest and torso, which provides additional protection to your child in the event of a side impact collision. With its adjustable headrest and harness and both rear-facing and forward-facing positions, this car seat can adapt to your growing child, making it a great fit at all times.

Thanks to the innovative i-fix system, installing the car seat is a breeze. Simply attach the car seat to your vehicle's ISOFIX connectors, and you're good to go.

The seat is fitted with a rear ventilation system providing additional airflow keeping your baby comfortable while rear-facing and Thermo5® and Nanotex® fabric that is stain and moisture-resistant, helping keep the seat cleaner for longer when little spills happen on the go.

There are 4 adjustable recline positions allowing your child to relax and sleep comfortably, making car rides more enjoyable for everyone.

The seat cover is easy to remove and machine washable, the car seat also includes a handy cup holder, allowing your child to have their favourite drink within reach during travels.

Editors notes

The B-First is a great choice but it doesn't fit in every car. If you’re looking for something smaller we recommend the Britax Graphene.

Your child can remain rearward facing until they are 30 months old (or approximately 2-3 years old), which is safer for your child.

3 Questions to Find a Car Seat

Do I need a car seat or a capsule?

Car capsules are used from newborn until around 12 months. Most car seats can be used from newborn to age 4. Capsules have the advantage of being able to be taken in and out of the car without disturbing your baby (who often fall asleep on rides), but you’ll get more mileage out of a car seat. If and when you leave the house, it’s most often in a car, and you’ll be in and out a lot in your baby’s first year, the capsule might be the right choice for you. If you’re more likely to be on foot or public transport through the week and only use the car for bigger trips, a car seat may be all you need.

How will it work with your car?

Your car type and size is the main consideration in choosing a car seat. A bigger car seat may restrict the amount of legroom you get in the front seat, or how many car seats will fit across the back seat (if you’re accommodating multiple kids) and some designs are easier to use depending if your car is higher or lower. There is also the consideration of whether you’ll install via ISOFix or the seatbelt.

How will it work with your lifestyle?

If you are choosing a capsule, check it can be connected to your pram. You also want to make sure it’s comfortable for you to carry (some are lighter than others) and for both car seats and capsules, ensure you find the mechanisms for clicking your baby in, and adjusting the headrest and shoulder heights, easy to do.
