How to Choose the Right BIBS Dummy
One of the reasons parents love BIBS dummies is the choice. With different materials, nipple shapes and sizes available, you can find one that feels right for your baby.
- Check the nipple material - Natural rubber has a soft, natural feel and flexibility that many parents choose during the newborn months. Silicone is firmer, holds its shape for longer and is easy to sterilise for daily use.
-
Think about nipple shape - Each shape encourages a slightly different sucking motion. Round nipples are often chosen by breastfeeding mums for their familiar shape, while symmetrical and asymmetrical shapes give you other options depending on what your baby prefers.
- Pick the right size - BIBS dummies come in sizes 1, 2 and 3, with each size intended for a different stage as your baby grows. Start with the size recommended for your baby’s age and size up as they grow.
Bibs Dummy Care & Maintenance Tips
A little care keeps your BIBS dummy clean and ready for everyday use. Before your baby uses it for the first time, sterilise it according to the manufacturer's instructions. After that, regular cleaning with warm water and the recommended cleaning method for the nipple material will help keep it fresh between uses.
Make sure to check your BIBS pacifier every now and then. If you notice any signs of wear or damage, it's time for a new one. Even with regular care, replacing dummies every 4 to 6 weeks is recommended to keep them clean, hygienic and ready for plenty more soothing moments.
