Lucinda McKimm and Lauren Treweek are the cousins behind Ready or Not, the podcast for and about mums and parents who make work, work. Between them, they have five children (Lucinda, a son born in 2022 and a daughter in 2024, and Lauren, a daughter in 2020, a son in 2022 and another boy in May this year) and have interviewed hundreds of other mums about their experience.

They know their stuff. Here, they are sharing their dream Baby Gift Registry. How, if they could go back in time, if they knew then what they know now, they'd redo their registries.

Mumma Milla Leakproof Bandeau Bralette

“My greatest shopping success would have to be these leakproof bras and camis. They kept my boobs in check, even on their leakiest, most tender days. I still wear them, and I stopped feeding months ago! They’re gorgeous to look at, supportive and practical. Plus, the scallop lined cami was the perfect piece to throw a shirt over and head out for a drink or coffee with girlfriends, knowing I wouldn’t be leaking anywhere and that I still have easy access to my boobs whenever we needed to feed,” says Lucinda. “For me, the Overnight Bra was where it’s at,” says Lauren. “The material is super soft and I found this style looked (as much as a maternity bra can) flattering. I found the sizing ran small so if you're between, size up.”

Portier The Limitless Carrier

Lucinda wore her Portier Cream Houndstooth Carrier everywhere, “I love that the Portier carriers are supportive of my poor, injured back but also look good enough to wear to a wedding, which I did a few times!” Then Lauren benefited too, “Lu loaned me hers, and if I'm totally honest with myself, my favourite thing is the look of it. Yes, it's reasonably easy to get on and off and does have back support but realistically, I'd go as far as saying that it elevates an outfit in those early days when you feeling kind of 'meh' and have probably worn the same buttoned shirt over and over. It's the best looking carrier on the market for the price you pay. Worth the investment with multiple kids because I use this day in and day out.

Curio Baby Blanket

“In my friendship group," says Lucinda, "it’s become a tradition to buy a Curio blanket for a new baby and it’s become such a special and sentimental thing. Each time a new baby arrives, we receive a photo of their small, sweet body cuddled up in Curio.”

Malo Nappy Change Spray

"When it came to things like dummies, wipes, nappies and the every-day practical items I relied on what worked for friends," says Lauren. "Think of it like a nappy rash cream in a spray version. No more having to get that thick cream stuck underneath your nails or having to wash your hands 4 times to get that white residue off your hands. Simply spray on during a nappy change and watch that nappy rash disappear. I also find it quicker and trust me, the older kids get, every second counts when it comes to managing nappy changes."

Continuall Postpartum Compression Short

“I wore my recovery shorts for the first six weeks after both babies," says Lucinda. "They helped me to heal and made me felt held together, literally and figuratively.”

Bundl Wool Wrap

"I used this as a pram insert and it kept my little guy Gus nice and cosy and warm throughout Melbourne winter," says Lauren. "I also used to chuck it in the car and if I was heading to a friend's place. I'd lay him in it all nice and snug where I could see him for a little snooze. It fits perfectly in a pram bassinet and removes the need to take a blanket.

Due Belly Glide

"No one ever warned me about the skin changes that occur postpartum!" says Lucinda. "Especially on my dry, bumpy arms! Having products that looked after my skin at a time where I was more focused on looking after my baby felt like a nice gift to myself."

CuboAi Smart Baby Monitor 3 Floor Stand Set

"I am such a fan," says Lauren. "This monitor is second to none. You're able to set up alerts, see your baby in real time at all times, you can check the temperature, humidity and can also use it as a white noise machine. It provides you with nighttime sleep analysis and you can mount it on a stand for a full birds eye view of your baby's cot. I also like that it's just as handy for when you have toddlers and don't need to see them during the night but may want to use the camera to check on them from time to time whilst they're playing in their room throughout the day. I provided my family members with access to the app so when they're babysitting, instead of opening the door they can check their phone to see when the kids wake up."

Portier Lucia Lounge Top & Pants

"I didn’t have these in pregnancy or postpartum, but if I had my time again I would absolutely invest," says Lucinda. "They look and feel luxe AF and having something you feel good in makes things much nicer."
